Sondra

Originally from Michigan, Sondra has called Wilmington home ever since she came to UNCW for graduate school. While pursuing her degree, she fell in love with the warmer weather and waterways of coastal Carolina. 

She met her husband in Wilmington and confesses that she can’t imagine living anywhere else—though she still supports her favorite Detroit sports teams!

In her role as a senior marketing director, she optimizes clients’ webpages to enhance their visibility on search engines like Google and Bing. 

“I love meeting new people, learning about new clients and really starting to brainstorm how I can help their website rank higher,” she said. “Overall, I love implementing new ideas and being able to witness how they work for the client. And it’s a great feeling to be able to show a client positive results from new strategies.”

Outside of work you’ll find her playing with her two dogs, hanging out with her husband, fishing and enjoying being on the water. She’s also an avid reader who likes TV police procedurals like Law & Order: SVU or Castle. 

Sondra also realizes the value of making a difference in the community.

“Whenever I witness someone making a difference, I am awestruck,” she said. “No matter the size of the gesture, if I can witness a positive impact, I will be inspired. I try to leave places and people better than I found them. And I try to be very aware of my presence in this world and how it affects others.”
